I found this really interesting because the Queen hates going outside, she hates having her photo taken and she hates taking her crown off for a more “casual” look in photos. She was really quite unhappy to be doing this photo shoot and just wanted to rush through it.
I think this photo is quite cold and dark and it shows the queen as a strong and

Environmental portrait of the Queen by Annie Leibowitz.

Mike Tyson has always been portrayed by the Media in a terrible light.
This photo shows a softer side of the former heavyweight boxing champion, and expresses the love Mike Tyson has for birds. A pigeon was the first thing Mike Tyson ever felt love for. He’s made a lot of mistakes in his life but as you can see in this photo, the relationship he has with his birds is a private and gentle side of him you wouldn’t know existed.

The audience would be anyone old enough to remember Mike Tyson’s boxing career. I suppose it would predominantly be males aged between say 18 and 50. Anyone who is either a fan of Mike Tyson, or knows about the bad things he’s done in his life and is interested in seeing him portrayed in a softer light.

This photo would have been shot in a studio using studio lighting. It seems to use a front light that focuses on the centre of the image and the way its posed really expresses the loving relationship he had with his birds.

http://rowville.blog.barryplant.com.au/2010/11/10/young-mums-learn-from-experience/

When I was 17, I was in the local paper as a teen mum through my young mums group! This helped me a lot. A lot of people I knew from high school and who I used to dance with saw this and I was flooded with messages of support for the first time! I think having this published about myself and seeing the reaction I got from people after I could tell my story really inspired me to tell other peoples’ stories and hopefully get the word around that we’re actually not all terrible people.
Since becoming a mother I’ve been called a slut, accused of using drugs, told I neglect my daughter and don’t deserve her countless times, and basically been told everything I do is wrong.
My personal stereotype was that I’d go out every night, get drunk, use drugs, put my daughter in childcare all day, and basically palm her off to my mum and have nothing to do with her.
In reality I was a dedicated stay at home mother for 2 years, I practiced “attachment parenting” which basically means I breastfed for 2 years, I co-slept, and used a baby carrier. I didn’t go anywhere without her til she was 18 months old and had no choice and every day I struggle leaving my baby at childcare, but I’m doing it so I can give her a good life in the long run! If anything I’ve always been too clingy, the complete opposite of my stereotype.
People just don’t understand it yet and it is something that could happen to any sexually active teenager no matter how careful they are. I think people need to understand the pros, as well as all the cons of having a baby young, so they know at least not to intentionally do it, but don’t judge those who do get pregnant too young.

TEST SHOOT

This is a photo I took a few weeks ago.
I really love this photo and I think I’d like to use it.
I think it shows that they are a real family. I love the detail that came out on the brickwork and the rail because it shows that its not the nicest house in the world, but the way they’re sitting on the back steps together it’s still a family home. This photo wasn’t posed at all, it was really natural. I took this when I first arrived and it was definitely the best photo in the shoot.
I’m not sure if Im heading in the right direction with this, or if its the type of photo you’d use in a documentary, I just love it!

And So It Goes

This is a photo I found a lot of inspiration from! It’s such an honest depiction of teen pregnancy.
They look a bit worried and confused. You can see they’re still just teenagers in the way that they dress and the way the bedroom looks, with all the posters up, but I think I just think it’s great, the way the dad is there too, reading the baby book and the girl is casually lying on the bed. I think the photo has been staged but it has been posed in such a way that it looks completely natural. I think it’s something these people would be doing anyway.
I would love to shoot a photo of a pregnant girl just doing her own thing in her room. I found it very interesting how the parents are in a teenage bedroom and the only real difference to them and any other teenagers is her belly, and he’s reading a parenting magazine rather than Zoo or something like that! 🙂

Teen Parenthood Documentary Research

I think that teen parenthood is portrayed in a really negative light.
There are plenty of documentaries that show the downsides of it-

there aren’t many that express the positive side of parenthood for young people.
Any young mother would tell you, of course it’s hard; of course we wish we waited! We all wish that we were smarter when we were young and had children when we were married and living out of home, but that’s not how it happened for us. The fact that it’s harder for us, does not mean we love our children any less, or that we don’t enjoy our lives. The majority of teen mothers who I have encountered work their butts off, working, studying or both, to make sure their children get everything they need in life!
I managed to find this very accurate portrayal of teen mothers that only aired a few days ago!

This is the least judgmental and closest to life documentary I’ve ever seen on teen mums. This video is so accurate to how it really is for us! I love the bit where she was sweeping the kitchen and gave him his toy broom so he wouldn’t get in her way! It’s just so real and natural.
